Applications open for the Irish Writers Centre/Belfast Book Festival Young Writer Delegates 2024

Are you a writer aged between 18-26 living on the island of Ireland? The Irish Writers Centre in partnership with The Belfast Book Festival might have the opportunity for you.

Applications are now open for The Irish Writers Centre/Belfast Book Festival Young Writer Delegates 2024, which gives successful candidates a fantastic opportunity to attend and contribute to the Belfast Book Festival 2024.

The Young Writer Delegates will spend five days at the Festival (June 6 – June 10, 2024) where they will receive:

  • Mentoring from local writer Deirdre Cartmill.
  • Free tickets to all festival events.
  • The opportunity to read a piece of their work at a public showcase as part of the festival programme.
  • Free accommodation for two (of the four) writers who live outside Belfast, while the other two places will be reserved for local writers. 

Deadline for applications is Wednesday 3 April 2024.
