Children’s Books Ireland and The O’Brien Press announce the National Design A Cover Competition 2024
Are you a budding artist aged 15 or younger? Children’s Books Ireland and The O’Brien Press are offering one lucky young person the chance to have their artwork featured on a professionally published book.
The national Design A Cover Competition is enlisting the help of Ireland’s talented young artists in re-jacketing Judi Curtin’s Time After Time. The winning design will be used as the basis for a new cover of a fresh edition of the book which will be published this autumn. The overall winner will also receive a class set of the book for their school and a special selection of The O’Brien Press books.
Five runners-up will have the chance to see their artwork featured in the book and will also receive a selection of fantastic titles from The O’Brien Press. This competition is open to residents of ROI and Northern Ireland only, with a closing date of Friday, 23rd February. All entrants must be aged 15 years or under.
The overall winner will also receive a class set of the book for their school and a special selection of The O’Brien Press books.
Ivan O’Brien said that The O’Brien Press was delighted to collaborate with CBI on a project that will give children a chance of seeing their artwork in a book which will be available all around the country.
“For a young reader, seeing their artwork on the shelves of their local bookshop is a massive honour, and a source of incredible excitement,” said Elaina Ryan, CEO of Children’s Books Ireland, adding how pleased CBI was to partner with The O’Brien Press. “Every year, we have been so impressed by the quality of the entries to this competition, and we look forward to reviewing them in the spring!”
