Introduction to Contemporary Irish Writing

20aprAll Day01junIntroduction to Contemporary Irish Writing

Event Details

This online course facilitated by Claire Hennessy is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about contemporary Irish writing (i.e. 21st century writers) and modern representations of the country. Each week we’ll look at work from a particular writer and discuss it, and then use it as a jumping-off point for our own writing. The writers/pieces selected (which change with each round of the course) are not intended to comprise a complete overview of the wide range of writing happening in Ireland at the moment, but rather to highlight some of what’s going on and to encourage participants to delve further into the subject. A mix of forms and genres are represented.

This is a 6-week online course for writers of all levels. Fee €175.

Claire Hennessy is a writer, editor, and creative writing teacher from Dublin.
