IGNITE series—empowering applicants for Arts Council funding

IGNITE series aims to empower Arts Council funding applicants

Match in the Dark is running the IGNITE Series throughout May and June to help people with applications for the Arts Council’s Literature Project Award.

The Arts Council’s Literature Project Award opens for applications between 21st June and 21st July.

The Award offers up to €30,000 for writers or literary producers to apply for their own project. The guidelines for last year’s award are here.

First IGNITE session

The first IGNITE session kicks off today, Tuesday 26 April when Annemarie Ní Chuirreáin and Sarah Maria Griffin will speak about a range of writer-led projects.

This includes events and arts collaborations they’ve been involved in, giving context to the increasing culture of project-based work in the literature sector, and the multiple sources of funding and supporting partners available to make them happen.

The event is chaired by Brendan Mac Evilly and Dani Gill.

Writer-led projects

IGNITE is a series of five online events focusing on writer-led projects. The events will showcase the work of previous recipients of the award; talk to programmers and potential partners; and offer advice, support and information to anyone considering applying.

Match in the Dark wants to empower applicants with the know-how to submit good proposals which have a good chance of being funded.
