Penguin acquires Ulysses Unbound by Terence Killeen

Penguin Press has acquired Ulysses Unbound: A Reader’s Companion to James Joyce’s Ulysses, by Terence Killeen from Irish publisher, Wordwell.

Perfect for readers new to Ulysses and written with a depth of knowledge that scholars have found invaluable, Ulysses Unbound is a clear and comprehensive guide to Joyce’s masterpiece from one of the foremost Dublin-based Joyce experts.

Publication is scheduled for spring 2022 to tie in with the centenary of Ulysses’ publication.

Author Terence Killeen said, “I am of course excited by the prospect of this new Penguin edition and am grateful to Wordwell for their continuing support for the book ever since 2004.”

“We are thrilled that Terence’s wonderful work has found such a good home at Penguin, one that can bring it to the wide readership it deserves,” said Ronan Colgan, Managing Director of Wordwell.

Simon Winder, Publishing Director of Penguin Press, said, “We are delighted to be re-publishing Terence Killeen’s marvellously enjoyable and useful book. Ulysses Unbound can also be read with pleasure simply in its own right, ideally pretending that it itself is a work of fiction, describing a book which does not in fact exist.”
