Stephen Rea to narrate A Conspiracy of Lies

A Conspiracy of Lies audio book coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings

Mercier Press has announced that Stephen Rea is the narrator of their latest audiobook A Conspiracy of Lies by Frank Connolly. The release, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, also features actors Liadh Connolly and Eoin Lynam.

“Stephen read A Conspiracy of Lies before launching it in 2019,” said author Frank Connolly. “He offered to read it then for an audiobook—we decided that it would more be appropriate to release it in May 2024 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings. It has been a privilege to work with such a professional as Stephen and I think his voice really brings this political thriller to life.”

A fictional thriller set during the bombings that shook Dublin in May 1974, A Conspiracy of Lies tells the story of Angie and Joe who meet in the wake of the single worst atrocity of the Troubles. Brought together by the effect the bombings have on their lives, these two young people set out on a quest to discover who is responsible, facing confrontation with dark forces in Irish and British society.
