Lecture: Looking at Ireland from China
Tuesday 4 February, 6.30pm.
National Library of Ireland 7-8 Kildare Street, Dublin 2, D02 P638
In partnership with the Dublin Chinese New Year festival, Prof Jerusha McCormack will give a talk on the cultural exchanges between Ireland and China.
Although hugely discrepant in size and culture – and half a world apart – Ireland and China can be viewed as running in a kind of parallel universe. In this lecture, Professor Jerusha McCormack (Beijing Foreign Studies University and Trinity College Dublin) reflects on the commonalities that have emerged between the two nations over the course of fifteen years teaching about Ireland in China.
