Annual print journal Howl is open for submissions until May 8
Do you write in English or Irish? Are you looking for a home for your fiction, poetry or non-fiction? Annual print journal Howl is open now for submissions, and is looking for exciting writing that is ‘raw and real’.
The inaugural issue, Howl ’22, features 62 contemporary, established, and emerging Irish writers, and has been featured on the RTÉ Poetry Programme, West Cork Literary Festival, and The Irish Examiner.
The journal is a not-for-profit publication with a commitment to promoting the best in contemporary Irish writing, edited by Róisín Legget-Bohan and Lauren O’Donovan.
The editors say that they are looking for “the gut-punching line, the unexpected turn, the nuanced back-story,” and for work to take the reader by surprise: “this may be present in the use of style, structure, or voice.”
