MoLI seek Events Assistant and Visitor Experience Assistant

Two roles have opened up at MoLI, an Events Assistant and a Visitor Experience Assistant, both with immediate start dates. Application deadline is Friday, 01 November.

Events Assistant—about the role

MoLI are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Events Assistant to support the work of the Events team in the planning and delivery of events, including weddings, corporate and University events, private dining and celebrations, and programmed public events. This is an administrative and operational role that will require flexibility and adaptability.

The Events Assistant will also provide cover for the Events Managers for annual leave and other absence. They will work with staff across the museum, alongside the Events Manager, external suppliers and clients to deliver events of the highest standard.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with a positive, service-oriented, can-do attitude. They will be able to work both independently and in a team, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem solving. Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and effective time management are essential.

Visitor Experience Assistant—about the role

Immersive multimedia exhibitions, priceless artefacts, lectures, performances, free-to-access Learning programmes, historic house tours, digital broadcasting, research facilities and a courtyard café set in one of the city’s most beautiful and tranquil gardens make the Museum of Literature Ireland a major contribution to the local and international literary landscape.

Visitor Experience Assistants provide exceptional welcome and first class customer service to a diverse audience of visitors from all ages and backgrounds. Visitor Experience Assistants work in a range of positions around the museum including: welcoming visitors to the museum, processing ticket and membership sales, engaging with visitors in the exhibitions, providing sales and product support in the museum shop, and assisting the delivery of events at the museum.

Since opening in 2019 the museum has also developed a thriving business as a venue for private events such as weddings, corporate receptions and conferencing. Visitor Experience Assistants also work to support this programme of public and private events.
