The West Cork Literary Festival runs on 12–19 July and welcomes a star-studded cast of writers to Bantry, Co. Cork. This year’s line-up includes Graham Norton, Mary Robinson, Laureate for Irish Fiction Sebastian Barry, Laureate na nÓg Sarah Crossan, Kit de Waal, Joseph O’Connor, Kevin Barry, Anne Carson, Joanne Harris, Stephen James Smith, Patrick Gale and Tracey Thorn. Five day workshops are at the heart of the festival. Edgar Award nominee Catherine Ryan Howard tutors the Crime Writing workshop while other workshops include Novel Writing with Anjali Joseph, Advanced Poetry with Liz Berry, the Short Story with Wendy Erskine, and Travel Writing with Adam Weymouth on Whiddy Island. A Festival Walk on Whiddy Island, a morning swim in Bantry Bay and a Letter Café as well as daily Editor-in-Residence sessions are also included in this year’s programme.
