To kick off the Dalkey Writing Festival last weekend, Dalkey Creates announced the winners of the Short Story and Poetry Competitions.
On Friday 29 November, at the Magpie Inn in Dalkey, the winners of the Dalkey Creates Short Story and Poetry competitions were announced and presented with their prizes.
The winner of the Poetry Competition was Wilma Kenny with her piece Mother’s Tears. Anna Fox, Festival Director for Dalkey Creates, read Wilma’s poem beautifully to the company gathered.
The winner of the Short Story Competition was Louise Farr with her piece Tinder. Louise was gregarious enough to read her winning short story to the audience which was a real treat.
