West Cork Literary Festival showcases their fantastic online Literary Advent Calendar for the second year.
2021 was a great year for Irish writing. Even though some festivals returned in-person and online, not every author had the chance to launch their books with a public celebration or to engage with audiences as they normally would.
WCLF has invited twenty-four Irish writers to submit a short video reading from their new books. They are showcasing the wide range of Irish writing and in particular focus on writers whose books they feel deserve more attention.
Since December 1st a new author and reading has been revealed, with wonderful extracts from novels, short stories, memoirs, poetry, children’s books, YA novels, nature writing, non-fiction, historical fiction, debut authors and Irish-language writing.
All of the videos have captions available. So far, there have been readings from Lynn Buckle, Ethel Rohan, Jarlath Gregory, Adiba Jaigirdar and many more. There’s lots of great content ahead and it’s a brilliant way to count down to Christmas!
