Little Island Books seeks an ambitious and motivated Sales Manager
Are you ambitious, motivated, with experience in a sales or marketing role? Little Island Books are seeking a Sales Manager to join their team.
Little Island was one of four Irish publishers to be shortlisted in their category for Small Press of the Year in the British Book Awards 2024, and was the first Irish publisher to ever be shortlisted for The Yoto Carnegie Medal in 2023 with Louise Finch’s The Eternal Return of Clara Hart, which was also the first Irish published book to be on the finalists’ list for the Kirkus Prize in the US.
This is an opportunity to sell excellent books for young people by leading Irish authors into chain and independent retail spaces, corporate and not-for-profit organisations, schools and libraries, and to support sales reps operating in Ireland, the UK, and North America.
The publishers are looking for someone who loves books and wants to know everything about the industry to join their tight and energetic team, to help grow the company over the coming years. If you’re a creative thinker with strong interpersonal skills who understands the power of networking and developing relationships, then this position might be for you.
The exact job title and salary will depend on experience and expectations, and compensation will be a combination of base salary and sales commission. Working hours can be flexible and Little Island are happy to accommodate the needs of parents or people with other demands on their time.
Candidates must be entitled to work in Ireland and available to commute to the Little Island office in Dublin 6 at least once per week.
Applications close at 5pm on 19 April 2024
