Recently, TheJournal.ie spoke to some bookshop owners about how they have been managing during the lockdown. We are happy to report that most said that they have been blown away by the demand for online orders during the pandemic.
At the same time TheJournal.ie conducted a poll among its subscribers, asking them about their reading habits during the lockdown. Happily, 47.2% of those polled said that they are reading more at this time. A smaller number, 33.3% said that they were reading books at their usual rate. Sadly 18.2% said that they do not read books at all. However, overall this is an encouraging picture.
