Celebrating the 30th edition of Ropes Literary Journal

The MA students of Literature and Publishing at NUI Galway have pulled out all the stops this year to celebrate the 30th edition of ROPES Literary Journal.

The journal features a collection of poetry, short fiction, non-fiction, and visual art. This year it includes work from established authors and artists such as Jessica Traynor and Leanne McDonagh, as well as emerging talent.

Launch

On the 6th of April, ROPES Issue 30 débuted to the world as part of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature.

The team launched the freshly printed journal in the National Irish Language Theatre, An Taibhdhearc, to a nearly full house.

Readings

The audience was treated to poetry from Claire Hennessy, a reading of dystopian fiction from James Hudson, and an Irish language poem from Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha, among others.

The ROPES team would like to extend a special thanks to all contributors as well as to everyone who came out to the launch to support the journal.
