The Lilliput Press seek a dynamic Publicist to join their team

The Lilliput Press, one of Ireland’s leading independent publishers, are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and detail-oriented Publicist to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and a knack for communication, capable of managing the marketing and publicity of an eclectic list of literary fiction, innovative non-fiction, history and biography.

This role requires a blend of creativity, organisation and interpersonal skills to ensure publications receive the attention they deserve and reach new audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster strong relationships with authors, booksellers, distributors, sales reps, publicists, publishers, libraries, festivals and prize organisations.
  • Plan and execute publicity campaigns for multiple books simultaneously across various genres.
  • Pitch to media outlets, arrange author interviews, features and book reviews.
  • Monitor and report on media coverage, ensuring authors and internal team are kept up-to-date with publicity progress.
  • Plan and execute book launches, author talks and book signing tours in Ireland and overseas – including virtual events to reach a global audience.
  • Assist with booking travel, organising tour schedules and managing logistics for author events and interviews.
  • Manage social media promotion and website SEO optimisation.
  • Create and distribute newsletters.
  • Prepare award entries for literary prizes.
  • Stay up to date with digital marketing trends and incorporate new strategies into campaigns.

What Lilliput are looking for

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Contacts within Irish media are a plus, but not essential.
  • Proficiency in social media and digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of both traditional and digital media landscapes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Working closely as part of a small but dynamic team.

Salary: €32,000 per annum.
