Way with Words is a literature festival that has been ongoing in Wicklow from 29 February to 14 March, primarily in Arklow and Blessington. Towns such as Bray and Baltinglass may also host a few events.
Presented by Wicklow County Council’s Arts office and Library Service, it is a festival that includes such activities as readings, workshops, talks and songs for people of all ages. Primary school students on field trips will solely view a few events that they will enjoy. A fair amount of genres and approaches to writing will be represented in this festival.
There is a fine line-up of writers, performers and speakers who will host informative and fascinating events. Here are some events coming up in the near future:
- Fact to Fiction with Niamh Boyce, a workshop for writers or those who aspire to writing which will help explore how true stories can inspire fiction. March 7 from 10:30 am–12:30 pm, Arklow Library.
- Cristine Dwyer Hickey in conversation with Dermott Bolger about her work and having her novel Tatty selected for Dublin One City One book 2020. March 7 from 7:30–9:30 pm, Blessington Library.
