Frankfurt Book Fair are proceeding with caution, while Beijing Book Fair announce a digital fair for 2020.
Frankfurt Book Fair, the world’s largest trade fair for books is holding firm on plans to host the 2020 fair live in the Messe October 14-18 2020 but with strict new safety measures in place.
Highlights include:
- The observance of a distance to other people of at least 1.5 m is obligatory for every visitor at the fair.
- Minimum size of stand: 8 sqm
- Aisle widths: 6-8 m
- Compulsory wearing of a mouth and nose cover depending on the current legal situation.

The 2020 Beijing International Book Fair scheduled to take place August 26 -30, and typically attended by over 30,000 people each year, have just announced that this year’s fair will be held online only. ‘Smart BIBF 2020’ will offer the opportunity to exhibit, network and negotiate online and will be free to register.
