Red Line Book Festival
The Red Line Book Festival, funded by South Dublin County Council and managed by South Dublin Libraries and Arts, celebrates local, national and international writing.
The festival is presented across the network of public libraries and the Cultural Quarter—the Civic Theatre, the County Library and Rua Red—as well as in landmark historic venues—Rathfarnham Castle, the Pearse Museum and the Brú Chronáin Round Tower Visitor Centre.
Highlights for this year include Simon Armitage, the UK’s new Poet Laureate, to mark the launch of the 2019 festival. Simon Armitage, whose work spans sharp observations about modern life and classical myths, will hold the historic post for the next decade, taking over from Dame Carol Ann Duffy.
