Waterford’s Imagine Arts Festival, back for its eighteenth year on 18–27 October, will include the Waterford Writers Weekend 2019 as an integral part of its programme.
The Waterford Writers Weekend opens on Friday 25 October and runs for three days with 24 different events on offer, from workshops, master classes and readings to poetry events, author interviews and panel discussions with some of the country’s foremost writers and publishers.
Some of the highlights across the weekend include the announcement of the national Waterford Poetry Prize; the hosting of Sunday Miscellany in the Theatre Royal; a conversation with authors Sheila O’Flanagan, Ciara Gerarty and Melissa Hill; a reading with Willie Vlautin; a chat between crime writers Andrea Carter and Jo Spain; Sunday Brunch with Jim and Megan Nolan, and a conversation with Ian Maleney.
A panel discussion focusing on the path to publication will feature Lisa Coen of Tramp Press, Martin Doyle of The Irish Times, Lisa Frank of Doire Press and Brian Langan of Storyline Literary Agency. Over half of the Waterford Writers Weekend events will be on offer free of charge, with the remainder having nominal ticket prices.
Tickets are now available for booking at garterlane.ie, or 051 855038. You can see the full programme on imagineartsfestival.com.
