Words Ireland Diversity & Inclusion Webinar Series
Words Ireland is hosting a 3-part webinar series on Diversity and Inclusion in the literature sector, following the launch of findings from their recent surveys.
The webinar series will closely examine the barriers preventing inclusion in the sector and identify possible solutions.
It will deliver presentations on projects already underway in Irish literature to increase diversity and inclusion, and will present and discuss Words Ireland’s ‘Charter for Inclusion’ which it hopes the wider sector will endorse.
Contributions will come from a wide variety of leaders in the sector, and from writers and programmers leading projects for change and inclusion.

Tuesday 2nd November @ 11.00am–12.30pm
This event will present our draft ‘Charter for Inclusion’, led by Noeleen Hartigan, with commentary on the Charter, and discussion on next steps for the sector from writer Eoin de Bhairduin, Michael McLoughlin (Penguin Random House), Joanna Smyth (Pubishing Ireland) among others.
Tuesday 16th November @ 11.00am–12.30pm
Our second webinar focuses on what’s happening in the Irish literature sector right now, including presentations of diversity & inclusion initiatives from Skein Press (Gráinne O’Toole and Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe), the Trans Writers Union (Anna Walsh and James Hudson), and Poetry Ireland (Niamh O’Donnell and Elizabeth Mohen) among others.

Our third webinar focuses on what’s happening in broader arts sector with contributions from Maureen Kennelly (Arts Council), Lynn Scarff (Director of National Museums), Olwen Dawe (Equality Policy & Strategy Expert), and more tbc.
